Welcome to the MONICET app, an exclusive tool for registered whale-watching companies. By using this application, you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions.
2. Eligibility and Access
- The MONICET app is available only to authorized whale-watching companies and their
designated personnel.
3. Usage Rules
- Users must provide accurate data on sightings of marine species, events at sea, and vessel routes.
- Data collected through the app will be shared with the MONICET platform
- The collected data is considered open-access, subject to a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0), and will be shared on multiple platforms, including the MONICET website and the Global Biodiversity Information Facility.
- For the purposes of attribution, the company name and the name of the user can be associated with the data, if that permission is granted.
- Any misuse of the app, including falsifying data, may result in the suspension or termination of access.
4. Liability and Disclaimer
- The MONICET platform is not responsible for any inaccuracies in user-submitted data.
5. Modifications to the Terms
- These Terms and Conditions may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of any changes.
